my aunt passed away this morning.

the hospital called around 7 and said her condition was getting worse. so mom and dad and i went over there. the doctor came in and the decision was made to not take any drastic life saving measures.. since he believed the cancer was too far progressed.

i was standing next to her bed . holding her hand .. gently rubbing her arm ..mom was holding her other hand .. dad had stepped out of the room for a sec. mom was smoothing her hair and telling her jesus loves her. we had been talking about my grandmother.. her mother... and that she was coming to get her. and then just slowly she stopped breathing.. she didn't seem to be in any pain.
they had given her morphine. dad came back in the room seconds after she passed.
we all just stood there and cried. she kept her pain and all private. none of us knew she had this cancer inside. all we knew about was her skin cancer that my folks were taking her to the doctor about. we only knew about this other for a couple of weeks.
and only the past few days did we know how advanced it was. the doctor had said maybe 2 months. cancer is so awful.. im glad she passed peacefully and with pain medication. and im glad i was there holding her hand.
